SCHOOL-RUN ACTIVITIES

PLAY DATES

Play Dates is for all local children up to the end of Primary 2 with a learning disability and their parents/carers.

Throughout the year we have a number of special events relating to learning through play, for example: Fundamental Movement, Attention Autism, Sensory Stories, Art and Music. We encourage parents to have fun playing with their children while getting advice and support from experienced Hill Croft staff.  We aim to support parents to help their children learn through play.

SATURDAY MORNING PLAY SESSIONS

– for Junior School Pupils

These sessions are funded through our Extended Schools budget and happen 5 times throughout the school year.  Our Junior school pupils are welcome to attend with their parents/carers and siblings. The Play Mornings allow parents to engage with their children through play in a familiar environment.

YOUTH CLUB

– for Senior School Pupils

Hill Croft’s youth club runs for 5 sessions throughout the school year and is funded through our Extended Schools budget.  Places are limited and dates will be confirmed during the school year.

Youth Club allows our pupils to interact with each other in the comfort of familiar surroundings.  Activities are provided by school staff.

Please keep an eye on our school Facebook page for details.

SUMMER SCHEME

Pupils from P1 up to Transition pupils who will be back in September are eligible to attend the Summer Scheme provided by the Education Authority. It usually runs across 2 weeks at the end of July or into early August. While the younger pupils are mostly attending the first week and the older pupils are mostly attending the second week this is not strictly ‘Junior’ and ‘Senior’ as we aim to get the best balance of pupil numbers to staff to meet their needs. It would be a good idea to check if dates are available before booking any holidays.

Summer Scheme is a really important time for our families. Many of our pupils struggle to attend other activities over the longer summer weeks at home and miss the routine and social aspects of school.

Activities are organised to pack the week full of fun.  Forms will be sent out via the Teachers2Parents app.
