Strike Information

November 2023

Dear Parents/Carers,
You will have heard through the media that a ½ day strike is planned for all teaching unions on 29 Nov.

As I am unable to ascertain which, if any teachers will be available for work that morning,  I have conducted a risk assessment, and this shows that we are not able to safely open school for pupils before 12 noon on 29 November. While disappointed that the action has had to get to this stage, the governors understand the reasons for the strike but are also concerned about the disruption to the pupils and their families.

The school will be closed for ALL pupils from 9:00-12:00 on 29 November.

Nursery class is cancelled for the day.

Transport TO school will not be available but transport HOME will. Parents need to bring their child to school at the time listed below, and then they will arrive home on usual transport.

By 28 Nov at 3pm parents should inform the class teacher via seesaw if their child:

  • WILL be coming to school from 12 on 29 Nov
  • If they require a paid or free meal
The school site will be busy so we ask that pupils in
  • Foundation stage, KS1&2 and Nurture classes arrive at 12:00
  • Senior, transition and Sensory classes arrive at 12:15
This will assist with safe drop off of pupils.
Should there be an agreement and the strike is cancelled, I will of course let you know as soon as possible.
Kind regards
Roz McFeeters
